OFA

Additional Educational Obligations (OFA) – Academic Year 2025/26

The fulfillment of the OFA is assigned based on the score obtained in the admission tests for the degree courses of the Faculty of Information Engineering, Informatics, and Statistics.

OFA thresholds for degree courses with knowledge verification

Degree CourseOFA Threshold
Computer Science (Distance Learning)16/50
Telecommunications Engineering16/50
Information Engineering (Latina)16/50
Statistics, Economics, and Social Sciences10/36
Statistics, Finance, and Actuarial Sciences10/36
Management Statistics10/36

Other OFA thresholds are provided for students who enroll in one of the Faculty's degree courses despite having taken the admission test required for other degree courses (see the announcement). The result of the English section does not affect the evaluation thresholds provided for the assignment of the OFA.

OFA thresholds for degree courses with programmed access

For the degree courses in Computer Science, Computer and Automatic Engineering, Electronic Engineering, and Management Engineering, the Additional Educational Obligations in Mathematics are assigned to those who:

  1. Enrolled in the third selection and are winners within the available places but did not obtain a score greater than or equal to 18/50 in the TOLC-I or ENGLISH TOLC-I (also in TOLC@home mode);
  2. Enrolled covering any remaining free places after the complete scrolling of the merit ranking related to the last selection and took the TOLC-I or ENGLISH TOLC-I (also in TOLC@home mode) at Sapienza or other universities with a score lower than 18/50.

OFA for the programmed access course in Applied Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence

The Additional Educational Obligations (OFA) in Mathematics are assigned to candidates who, despite being in a useful position in the ranking, obtained a score lower than 40/100 in one of the admission tests indicated in the Announcement, according to the concordance table of points A1.4 and A1.5 of Annex 1 of the same.

Fulfillment of OFA for all Faculty degree courses

The additional educational obligations are considered fulfilled in one of the following two ways:

  • Passing the recovery tests (OFA test) or
  • Passing the curricular exam

The dates and methods of conducting the OFA tests will be published on the course's web page accessible from the university catalog https://corsidilaurea.uniroma1.it/ and also on the Faculty of Information Engineering, Informatics, and Statistics website at the link https://i3s.web.uniroma1.it/it/ofa.

Attention: the OFA must be passed within the first year of the course (by 31/10/2026). Failure to fulfill the OFA will result in the inability, starting from the academic year 2026-2027, to take profit exams related to years following the first.

Support activities organized by the Faculty for the recovery of OFA

To facilitate the recovery of the OFA, the Faculty of Information Engineering, Informatics, and Statistics makes available the mathematics pre-courses contained in the e-learning page "mathematics pre-courses for engineering" accessible at the following link https://elearning.uniroma1.it/enrol/index.php?id=11798 and the support of dedicated tutors.

For Applied Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, the Faculty will make available a recorded Linear Algebra pre-course and the support of dedicated tutors. The link to follow the pre-course will be published on the study course page in the catalog https://corsidilaurea.uniroma1.it/.

All information is published on the Faculty's OFA web page: https://i3s.web.uniroma1.it/.
